Poetry Prompt: June 22
Welcome to my substack. I kept a blog for years, it’s still accessible here
This substack will be prompts and poems and also some stuff about creativity and resilience, two of my favorite topics. And other stuff!
Sometimes I find prompts helpful, sometimes I use them and I also like reading them and thinking about writing without acting on them. Still, they are grist for the mill!
Here’s my first prompt:
Go outside.
On a piece of paper, make two columns
List seven things you see in the first column. In the second column note the color of that thing.
Try to have at least five different colored things.
Set a timer for 7 minutes
Write 5 lines of poetry, using four of the colors. Do NOT include the things from the first column in any of your lines.
Include a street you lived on in grade school and the title of the first book you loved.
Tell me how it goes!
